1966 Sunbeam Tiger. Real car. Hellaciously fast. Built 289, stout original Ford 4 speed top loader. Great running driver. Not quite Pebble material but most certainly a handsome car that can be enjoyed as is.
According to the VIN the car started life Green, after crawling under the dash it was finally confirmed. The car was resprayed Red some time ago, the paintwork still shines very nicely. Excellent Chrome and glass. The cars black Interior is very nice, seat covers, door cards and dash are in very nice condition. The cars carpeting was replaced at some time with average quality carpet and should be redone nicely. The car comes with its factory hard top, the rear plexi-glass is remarkably clear, meaning the car was kept in-doors. There are cosmetic flaws in the car but, they are few and minor. There are rust repairs done to the cars floor, nothing terrible but not done particularly well (full disclosure, the old adage is however, "keep as much original as possible") typical of these early English cars, the chassis is rock solid as are suspension pick-up points, etc.
The car is hellish fast, period. 1st gear is good to above 60mph and 2nd gear can be used to cruise around town quite comfortably. Clutch take-up is chatter and slip free. The car tracks straight, there is no excessive play in the steering. The car starts instantly though can be just a bit cold blooded (crap fuel today)
Again, not perfect but, certainly a very nice looking and rare real-deal Tiger that can be driven and enjoyed as is for some time to come or fiddle with it here and there and make it a bit better. Perfect car for the guy who doesn't want a trailer queen and yet still has some minor "little fix-its" to keep you in the garage :) Please don't hate on the steering wheel, I can't stand it wither... looking for an original now :)
