Vehicle Description
He who laughs last, laughs best. After all, people were skeptical
when the 1993 Ford F-150 Lightning debuted the idea of a
high-performance pickup. But they prove them wrong quite quickly,
and today a first-year example of this muscle truck is a true
collectable. So since this one has vivid red paint, some nice
custom touches, and a high-performance 5.8-liter V8 upgraded for
even more power, this it's a highly desirable truck that will be
leaving us quickly.
In this first year, you could only get the Lightning in black or
red, and less than 2,600 were panted the Bright Red. So there's
rarity in its beauty. Ford dipped everything on the truck in the
same fiery red, including the bumpers, side mirrors, and grille.
And this received a quality respray later in life, so its finish
remains devilish. Lightning badges and a subtle chin spoiler add to
the sporty details, and the tubular rear bumper is actually a Ford
factory option. For practicality's sake, this one does have a
carpeted bed as well as a hard-shell tonneau cover. So you have a
more aerodynamic muscle truck and a well-finished cargo area that
can be as handy an a huge trunk.
The interior got a big upgrade over the standard F-150. After all,
a sport truck needs sport seats, so these got exclusive buckets
with cool Lightning stitching in the headrest. They have power
adjust bolstering and plenty of leg support, so they can be grippy
yet comfortable for all-day drives. There is a middle jump seat,
but it's best when folded down for a cup holder center console. As
a premium pickup, you also got all the best features. This includes
power windows, power locks, cruise control, a tilt steering column,
sliding rear window, and air conditioning (likely needs servicing
to blow ideally cold again.) Plus, the stereo has been upgraded to
an Alpine AM/FM/CD unit. There's a full set of gauges, including a
120 mph speedometer - and this truck will probably use most of
that!
The Lightning received a reworked version of Ford's fuel-injected
5.8-liter V8. The true secret to this 351W is the heads and intake
very similar to the GT-40 setup used on the Mustang Cobra. This is
a replacement motor, and when they did the work, they not only
added some cool details, like the powder coated intake, but there
was even more power added. This is thanks to pieces like the MSD
ignition and heat-wrapped headers feeding the full dual exhaust.
The rear end on these were built to give this truck power
take-offs, but this fast Ford also has a practical side, too. It's
linked to a quick-shifting AOD four-speed automatic transmission
with overdrive. There's also power steering, power front disc
brakes, and Goodyear Eagle RS-A tires attached to the Lightning's
special 17-inch alloy wheels. So it's really up to you to choose
between mild or wild anytime you want.
Complete with owner's manual, this the first-year muscle pickup
that's gets a ton of appreciative nods and is a ton of fun to
drive. So at a value price like this, we know this deal will be
moving lightning-quick. Call today!!!
