Vehicle Description
Only about 250 of these were built, and far fewer remain. They were
manufactured from 1958 through 1963 so many people have never seen
one. What it is, is a Crofton Bug - 1959 model! It really is a
serious and rugged machine. The engine is derived from a Crosley
inline four. It measures 44 cubic inches and about 35 horsepower.
When you open the hood, you'll surely be impressed with the engine
compartment. Everything is neat and orderly, and it features wiring
that many muscle car owners would envy. The finned aluminum valve
cover and aluminum radiator lend an air of sophistication and
quality. Power is transferred through a three speed manual
transmission. The dash features a Yes, the Bug is streetable, but
really shines off road, on the farm, or around town, with a top
speed of about 50mph. The vehicle has been lovingly restored to as
new condition and everything functions as new. In its day, the
Crofton Bug saw duty in industry, airports, and farms. These are
heavy-duty commercial applications. This Crofton Bug is titled and
completely street legal just like any car or truck. You might just
want to drive, show, and preserve your Bug, but it's nice to know
it's capable of much more.
