Vehicle Description
Maxmotive is pleased to present this rare find -- a 1962 Plymouth
Savoy custom that artfully blends classic looks and modern features
into a unique but functional package. It's powered by a balanced
440 RB big block with dual Edelbrock 4-barrels and a 509 cam. The
sound is sonic bliss with dual Flowmaster mufflers, or you can
bypass the mufflers with the trick electric exhaust dumps. The
Torqueflite tranny works like back in the day with its original
push-button shifter. You know this car will take off with this
potent power team and a 4.10 rear. The striking red paint is a
custom PPG mix, contrasting well with the plush tan interior. With
the fabulous paint, it's only fitting that all the chrome and
stainless was carefully restored. The body color carries over into
the dash and a hand-fabbed center console for a touch of modern,
while the dash is pure '62. It even has a period-look tach within
easy view. Vintage air and heat handles any weather conditions. Tan
leather seats look great and are super comfortable, and the door
panels are done in matching tan upholstery as is the roomy rear
bench seat and the fully upholstered and carpeted trunk. In the
center of the trunk is a lid that reveals a custom racing style
fuel cell for an extra measure of safety. The chassis is up to the
task as well. Ladder bars keep the rear axle stable and there are
coil overs all around. Wilwood power assisted four-wheel disc
brakes provide sure-footed control for this big block beast. Chrome
five-spoke wheels work perfectly with the vintage/modern theme of
the build. In today's custom car scene, it's harder than ever to
really stand out. With a respectful nod to its origins, this 1962
Plymouth Savoy has the appearance and performance to garner
admiring looks while capturing its share of trophies too.
