Vehicle Description
A gorgeous two owner Silver Shadow Long Wheel Base ("LWB") sedan in
simply stunning condition in every respect. This is one of the last
of the Silver Shadows. It can be confidently said that the 1974-76
year manufactured Silver Shadows were the best of the series as
they incorporated all of the technological and design enhancements
developed over the life of the model (1966-76). This one is
finished in 2-tone Seychelles blue (deep blue) over Carribean blue
(both metallics) and accentuated by hand-painted fine-lines on the
body waist-line and the hub-cap trim rings in white. This all
coordinates very handsomely with navy blue Connolly hide leather
interior with a light corn-flower blue seat piping and Wilton wool
floor rugs in matching navy blue. The whole ensemble is truly very
rich and inviting. The navy blue carpeting continues thru to the
trunk (boot). The body on the car is very straight and the paint is
extremely nice. It has been a Californian car most of its life and
then east coast for the last 5 or so years, so completely rust free
and very clean underneath. The top-half of the car - the Seychelles
Blue - was repainted at some point of the car's life (I am guessing
about 10 years ago) and presents very beautifully. Entirely
consistent, perfect match to original and deep in lustre and shine.
The paint presents very well indeed, albeit with a few little nicks
and minor blemishes which are barely noticeable but mentioned out
of clear disclosure. The Everflex top is its original fitment and
is in very good condition. This is good testament to the car's
cosseted life as these Eveflex tops do tend to degrade with splits
and cracks with the age of the car. This one has none of that. The
interior of the car is in stunning condition with virtually perfect
Connolly hide leather. The leather has only been lightly
re-connolised by us but nothing replaced or needing repaired.
Excellent testament to its relatively low mileage (any lines you
may see in the photos are the "natural" creases in the leather -
for some reason, they are accentuated in the photos whereas in real
life the seats present with a welcoming patina that is just
gorgeous). The leather is soft and supple. All the interior wood is
in excellent condition with the dash and door cappings all original
and never having been redone. Other than some minor seat belt
buckle chips in the driver's door and some barely noticeable
hairlines in some parts of the dash lacquer, it is excellent. The
rear door cappings show no signs of imperfections whatsoever. This
is very rare for a Silver Shadow and is another clear testament to
its well cared, for low mileage existence. The headlining is in
beautiful condition without any of the "grubbiness" often seen on
these wool headliners. There is a slight mark on the right rear C
pillar near the top of the seat squab. The carpet is also excellent
without a flaw. The deep grain and glossy finish of the rich
grained wood in this example combined with the dramatic navy blue
makes it all very rich and inviting. **For the winning bidder, a
set of genuine Rolls-Royce lambswool mouton rugs are available at
additional cost. We recommend navy blue as the most suitable colour
fitment. All interior feature and functions are fully operational
including all electrics - seats, windows, gauges, clock etc. The
A/C blows icy cold and heater working well. Everything is all so
clean and crisp. It has its original push-button radio and Pioneer
8-track fitted. The chrome and bright work is stunning without any
pitting and the rubber around the car is good. Mechanically, the
car is in superior condition and the presentation under the bonnet
and under carriage clearly shows that. Take a close look at the
engine bay photos and one could be excused to think this was a 5
year old example. It has not been "done-up" for sale but correctly
maintained in original condition. All hydraulics and brakes have
been inspected and tested, working well.
