Powering this example is a 5.7L LS6 V8 motor mated to a 6-speed
manual transmission. From factory this powerplant produced over 400
horsepower! Increasing the performance of the LS6 is a set of
American Racing headers, an X-pipe and a Corsa Extreme exhaust.
Factory features include 4-wheel power disc brakes, power windows,
power steering, power locks, working heat, A/C and much much more.
Additional touches to the vehicle include aftermarket Lamborghini

Starting with the 2002 model year, power was increased to 405 hp at
6000 rpm and 400 lb-ft of torque at 4800 rpm, due to a larger CFM
air intake, stiffer valve springs, lighter sodium filled valves and
more aggressive camshaft lift and timing. The new components added
to the Z06 included: uprated FE4 suspension, larger wheels and
tires, revised gearing ratios, and functional brake cooling ducts.
The Z06 is 38 lb lighter than a standard C5 hardtop thanks to
weight-saving measures such as a titanium exhaust, thinner glass,
lighter wheels, non-EMTtires, reduced soundproofing, fixed rear
radio aerial, and a lighter battery.
