Vehicle Description
This 1988 Chevrolet C1500 Silverado is a loaded pickup that has
been given the right investments to be a great mix of new style and
plenty of classic details. So when you want a loaded, versatile,
and interesting truck that's also affordable, you know this one
fits ideally.
This was the first year for the new style Chevy C/Ks. It's a design
that was so sleek and interesting, that you can still see echoes of
it in the brand new Silverados. Then again, people also will never
believe the truck is over thirty years old with this level of
presentation. The bodywork is straight and clean, which makes for a
great canvas for a quality respray. You can tell they made a nice
investment later in life refinishing the factory-correct Garnet Red
just by the level of gloss and shine from this metallic finish.
Plus, the lower silver portion harmonizes nicely with the imbedded
shine of the upper color. They really went the extra mile giving
these colors the premium look with details like the matching red
wheels and a full silver pinstripe. And everything from the bright
chrome bumpers to the added window rain guards really tell you this
is a well-respected pickup. But as clean as this Silverado is, it
still knows how to earn its keep. The liner pant in the bed,
locking tool box, and proper trailer hitch are all there for true
truck duty.
Inside is more of the well-done classic attitude. So you get the
classic bench seat but with added contouring and a comfy cloth
finish that came on this new generation of Silverado. Carpeting,
door panels, and the dash pad all have a stock look in a nice and
deep red. Silverados are at the premium end, and so you get nice
features like power windows, power locks, a tilt steering column,
cruise control, and cold R134A air conditioning. There's even an
upgrade to an Alpine AM/FM/CD stereo for upgraded driving
music.
When you open the hood, the polished air cleaner and valve covers
give this a little added flair. But what really excites truck
people is the substance of this motor. It's Chevrolet's trusty
5.7-liter small block, and it comes from the time when the factory
was installing fuel injection from day one. This has good looking
belts, hoses, wires, and newer dual exhaust that gives the V8 a
nice low rumble. It drives with the confidence of a well-respected
FI machine, and you have easy driving features like power steering
and power brakes with front discs. This also has a four-speed
automatic transmission w/highway-friendly overdrive to really enjoy
this one near or far.
Complete with owner's manual, this is a truck that has spent most
of its life in Florida and has been given the right investments
along the way. So if you want a classic pickup that's vintage,
useful, distinct, and affordable, don't miss this Chevy. Call
