This 1958 MGA is the quintessential British roadster that comes in
a great color combo. Best of all, this iconic symbol of class and
distinction can be had for basically the price of a Miata.
This car is an icon of the open road. It has long flowing fenders
that would look great on a Cadillac, but instead they artfully draw
on a svelte European body. And the fitment on this example is quite
nice. The red paint has the right amount of gloss to show off these
curves every time the sunshine finds the sheetmetal. Let's face it,
you're going to want to be driving this MGA on every sunny day,
anyway. The low-cut doors, movable windscreen, and sport wheels
gives this one a true sports car heritage. And the full-length
white racing stripe package really reinforces that image. But what
really makes the MGA special is the touch of class that comes from
plenty of brightwork on the wraparound chrome bumpers, polished
wheel covers, and waterfall grille.
This comes with a soft top and side curtains, but really, we all
know these were meant to be open to the world. That's why the
interior was given a cool custom look. The white bucket seats with
red piping goes nicely with the exterior color theme. Plus, it's a
well-coordinated look inside and out with white door panels, white
dash pad, and full red carpeting. These MGs are a great lesson in
purist motoring, and the interior proves it. A grippy three-spoke
steering wheel, clear Jaeger gauges, and a manual transmission -
those are the true essentials you need. Your senses will go into
overload as gaze at the classic dash panel finished in wood. Pull
the start knob and then let the wind whip through the interior
while you help fill it with the wonderful soundtrack from the
motor.
The B-series engine is a robust powerplant. This was a popular
motor in Europe, and parts are still easy to find and relatively
inexpensive. The engine bay looks well maintained, and so you know
this is the one you want for an easy jaunt down the open road.
Everything from the dual SU carbs, to a smooth-shifting four-speed
manual transmission is there to give you the proper sports car
feeling. Plus, with the legendary nimble chassis and vintage-style
wheels with more modern tires, you'll be able to feel why these are
legendary backroad roadsters.
Beautiful, tasteful, and all-out fun to drive, this MGA is an
amazing classic offered at a price that will have it leaving our
showroom quickly. Call now!
