365/305HP 4 BBL V8 engine!There's no better example of GM's styling
and engineering prowess than the 1956 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz -
drive one like this particular example and you will see why - its
hard to believe that this car was built over 64 years ago! In 1956
the Cadillac Seville two door coupe and the Eldorado Biarritz two
door convertible were born and featured the massive grille and
bullet noses with distinct shark fins unique just to the Eldorado
that year and they were one of the highest priced cars of their day
- and with good reason - fifties excess had virtually reached its
peak with Cadillac boasting bigger cars with more chrome and larger
fins than ever before! These cars bristled with the latest in
modern appointments and had few rivals in the luxury market with a
recession making owning one only for the very privileged elite with
only some 2,150 Biarritz convertibles built in 1956 and 1,800 being
built the following year in 1957.This particular example has
obviously always been garaged and well maintained. The floor
boards, trunk and all the typical rust-prone areas are completely
original, solid and rust-free and the car has no signs of any
accidents whatsoever - obviously an always cherished 'Garage Queen'
since new if there ever was one. The car has been reportedly
recently rotisserie restored and has an obviously professional and
very striking repaint in its original factory 'Sonic Blue' color
paint and the car boasts a newly restored interior and new power
top. All the chrome has been re-chromed and the car boasts its
original factory parade boot. The 365/305HP 4 barrel V8 engine with
its matching # 56-62111238 stamped on the front side of the
crankcase above the water pump is original to the car and matches
the engine tag on the door and is extremely strong and powerful and
sounds absolutely magnificent and this particular car drives
absolutely magnificently - must be driven to be believed - does not
miss a beat and purrs like a kitten - drives straight as an arrow
with no strange road wobbles, shakes or rattles - a truly
remarkable daily driver that will give any modern day car a run for
it's money! The transmission shifts smoothly through the gears and
the car is an absolute pleasure to drive! All the options work as
they should including all the power options, the power windows,
power seats and the power top! The car boasts striking new chrome
Kelsey Hayes Sabre wheels, its spare wheel and jack in the truck,
its original T3 Headlamps and original cylinder heads. This is an
extraordinarily rare opportunity to own a great daily driving and
certainly local car show ready example of a mostly completely
original 1956 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz Convertible, 1 of only
2,150 of these rare luxury convertibles built in 1956, in
absolutely stunning driving and looking condition!
