Vehicle Description
This 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 396 is a hardtop with all the
upgrades you love. So check out everything from the upgraded big
block power to the A/C interior, and soon you'll realize this is
the one you've been waiting for.
Chevrolet made something exceptional when it combined the hardtop
profile with a fastback rear on these Chevelle coupes. When you
have a machine that was built to own the streets, it's nice to have
it in silver. This is an update later in life, and that gives it a
nice luster to highlight the super-straight sheetmetal. Adding the
shine are the brand-new form-fitting chrome bumpers and well-done
body trim. Plus, this coupe really does have all the best of the
muscle car era. We have a SS buildsheet that is believed to match
this vehicle, and this coupe also shows all the right signs of
being a true Super Sport. So this one really seems to earn its dual
black racing stripes. Not only do they highlight the cowl hood, but
also they coordinate with other dark pieces like the blackout SS
grille and rear panel. And the black vinyl top adds to the dark
side while also giving this a premium look.
The full black interior not only coordinates with the exterior
black accents, but also there's just something extra aggressive
about a full blackout package. Plus, it has the premium look with
the metal trim on the seatbacks and door panels. This was built to
be comfortable with an upgraded retro-style AM/FM digital tuner and
a newer Vintage Air air conditioning system. But what you'll really
love is how this is a driver-oriented SS. That means front bucket
seats, a center console with horseshoe shifter, and a grippy SS
steering wheel. The round gauge package includes a large speedo and
tach, and there's also a cleanly installed Equus auxiliary readout
package under the dash.
Under the hood, the smooth black inner fenders and firewall funnel
your attention to the bright big block radiating in the middle.
This 396 cubic-inch V8 is the correct displacement and was
installed later in life. So you get quite a clean presentation with
the bold block, matching valve covers, and a bright air topper with
callout. Plus, it has extra power with a Holley four-barrel
carburetor, Edelbrock RPM Air Gap intake, and Hedman headers that
feed the great sounding Flowmaster dual exhaust. You'll even spot
the right supporting components in this tidy engine bay, like the
newer brake booster and an aluminum radiator with electric fan.
It's a strong running motor that provides plenty of power, so it's
nicely paired with the stout and smooth TH400 three-speed automatic
transmission. This is the kind of classic you'll want to cruiser
all-day long. That's why it also has nice driving features like
power steering, front disc brakes, stronger SS boxed railing arms,
a rear sway bar, and wide BF Goodrich T/As.
This has the look, the power, and the rumble you want in a Chevelle
SS 396. So don't let this deal slip away. Call now!
