This 1961 Crown Southampton Imperial has undergone a complete frame-off full restoration. Beginning with the complete disassembly of the total car. All body parts were stored in a container whole the frame with the running gear came to my shop. All were stripped down, starting with the frame, it was sandblasted and then primed and painted. The suspension was reinstalled with new old parts, then all brake lines and fuel lines were installed. The engine was stripped down and then completely rebuilt with new pistons, cam shaft, and lifters, cam drivetrain, and all bearings. The transmission was overhauled with clutches and seals and a new front pump. After reinstalling the components, the engine was started and run in. The body was brought to my shop and the remaining gear was stored away. The body was stripped of all paint and the rust spots repaired. All chrome needing repair was sent away and replated, the stainless polished. The car was painted and installed all chrome and accessories. The interior was totally redone and installed. While restoring the car, I was able to find a donor car from which I did a total salvage, so my car has all original bolts and needed parts. Each and every body bolt was sandblasted prior to assembly of the car. All suspension bolts which are Grade 8 fine thread were changed out with the same that had been used.
The car has been driven approximately 50 miles since overhaul. The car was entered in the 2018 Invitational CHRA Sanctioned Show put on by the Draggen Car Club. The car won Best In Show in the Restored Cars category of its vintage.
