Vehicle Description
By now you've probably realized that your friends at RK Motors
really enjoy finding killer first-generation Camaros. The faster,
the scarier, the more unique: THE BETTER! In the past few years,
we've brought you some of the most mind-blowing, potent and
flat-out nasty pro-touring muscle on the planet. And, based on the
countless times we've watched these cars roll out of our showroom
almost as fast as they roll in, you seem to enjoy them just as much
as we do! Then again, how could anyone not love a classic that can
outrun, out turn, out stop and out class machines that are half its
age? Combining the best of yesterday with the best of today and
tomorrow, this impressive F1 is tailored to the muscle car fan who
wants the absolute best. And if you've been languishing at your
desk, debating a purchase while your favorite F-Bodies vanish from
our inventory, it's a rare chance at sweet redemption!
ALL BUSINESS
In typical '60s Detroit fashion, Chevy's first-generation Camaro,
adorned with clean surfaces and simplistic trim, literally defined
Mid Century style. However, while this F1's looks remained
timeless, it's condition did not. That's why Classic Muscle Motor
Company conducted a professional, ground-up restoration that
transformed a retro-cool pony car into a resto-mod superstar! That
thoughtful reboot involved solid panels, excellent panel alignment
and an astute attention to detail. Quality Axalta two-stage seals
glossy black base under a charcoal top stripe and silver outlining
stripes. And today, this carefully cured classic is a taut trophy
chaser that looks good both on the road and at the show!
There's no question the 1969 Camaro is one of the best-looking
classics of all time. And when a skilled builder adds a few custom
touches, it makes the car that much better! At the front of this
sinister F1, a charcoal grille hangs billet bars and stylish Rally
Sport headlights above a tucked bumper, a custom valance and a
custom chin spoiler. Above that grille, a familiar Cowl Induction
Hood leads the eye to tinted glass that's seated behind satin trim,
glossy rails and electric Detroit Speed wipers. At the sides of
that glass, a shaved profile floats billet door handles below
second-generation Camaro mirrors. And at the back of the car, a
custom deck spoiler shades billet taillights, an ornate fuel filler
and a second tucked bumper.
LS POWER
Pop this coupe's steel hood and you'll find 6.2 liters of divine GM
small block. Officially known as the Chevrolet Performance
LS376/525, that trusty engine twists respectable 10.7 to 1
compression into 525 horsepower and 486 lb./ft. of torque. At the
top of the block, a reliable K&N filter slinks breeze into a
polished tube, which fronts a proven GM throttle body and a
lightweight GM intake. That air meets spark in rectangular-port
L92-style heads, which ride under subtle, style-matched coil
covers. A nodular crank, powdered connecting rods and hypereutectic
pistons compress that volatile union. A hydraulic ASA cam utilizes
high-rate valve springs to maximize intake efficiency. Speaking of
breathing, that smooth valvetrain funnels spent gases through GM LS
exhaust manifolds. There's a massive aluminum radiator that's slid
between a dressed support, a polished cap and dual SPAL puller
fans. A Billet Specialties Tru Trac serpentine drive spins an
Edelbrock water pump next to a chrome alternator and quality PSC
steering components. And, as you likely deduced from our
high-resolution photos, the Chevy Orange mill rolls in a smoothed,
Satin Black frame that's finished with niceties like a Wilwood
brake booster, beefy down tubes and a Ringbrothers clutch
reservoir.
ALL MUSCLE
That acute focus on ability carries right over, or should we say
under, to a custom chassis that was created by Bridgton, Maine's
Jake's Rod Shop. Behind the buff engine, a modern Tremec 5-speed,
complete with a steel bellhousing, utilizes a hydraulic clutch to
spin a Strange 9-inch that's finished with a limited-slip
differential and 3.73 gears. That axle pushes a 4-bar rear-clip,
which plants coil-over-shocks in front of an adjustable panhard
bar. Opposite that pumpkin, power rack-and-pinion steering leads a
heavy-duty subframe, which cages QA-1 coil-overs in tubular control
arms and a racing-style sway bar. Stops come courtesy of
hydroboosted Wilwood calipers, 6-piston up front and 4-piston out
back, which clamp four drilled and slotted rotors. Charred fossils
float from the aforementioned tubes to a large-diameter exhaust
system, which hangs an X-shaped crossover in front of Flowmaster
dual-chamber mufflers. All that 'scoot and slide' hardware rolls on
Billet Specialties B-Forged wheels, which spin 275/35ZR18 BF
Goodrich g-Force Rivals in front of 335/30ZR18 BF Goodrich g-Force
Rivals. And the car's carefully undercoated floors feature a full
array of finishing components that includes braided fluid lines,
integrated subframe connectors and a big stainless fuel tank.
CUSTOM COMFORT
Hit the Remote Keyless Entry for this Camaro's doors and you'll
find a stylish custom interior that puts a unique spin on an old
favorite. In the middle of the car, leather-trimmed seats center
alligator-style inserts in contrasting stitches. In front of those
seats, a wrapped and stitched dash hangs custom telemetry next to
cool Vintage Air climate control. At the base of that dash, a
custom, full-length console founds a billet shifter between
switches for four power windows and a Bluetooth Alpine head unit
that features a trick rearview camera. Fade-free carpet flows to
custom, alligator-spiced side panels. A custom headliner crawls to
a custom package tray. And in front of the driver, a half-wrapped
Billet Specialties steering wheel laps a polished, tilting
column.
Well-built, fully detailed and attention grabbing in every way,
this Camaro backs a lot of show with a whole lot of go. In summary,
it's what every car enthusiast wants: speed, style and endless good
times! Looking for a first-class ticket to pro-touring bliss? Grab
