1955 Chevrolet 3100 Pickup
Car History
One of the most iconic trucks of the early 50s was the 1955
Chevrolet 3100 Series. The 1955 second series offered standard
options and add-ons such as 12-volt electrical systems, the first
V8, and fleet-side six-, seven-, and eight-foot length beds.
Boasting V-8 power, automatic transmission, many paint options, and
deluxe interior it shortened the barrier between car and truck. The
1955 set the stage for other
stylish trucks, such as the Ford Styleside, the Dodge Sweptside,
and Chevy's own Fleetside which quickly followed suit.
This 1955 Chevrolet Pickup we have at Adventure Classics has been
extensively customized and features brilliant orange paint, a plush
custom tan interior, Small Block Chevy engine, and a great wood
bed.
Engine & Drivetrain
What better to power a Chevrolet pickup than the iconic small block
Chevy V8 engine? It has a lot of chrome and billet pieces,
Edelbrock aluminum intake and 4-barrel carburetor, exhaust duties
are handled by headers running to dual exhaust that has a great
sound.
It also has polished finned valve covers, chrome open air cleaner,
aftermarket radiator and chrome shroud, that all dress up the
engine compartment nicely. The truck rides nicely on American
Racing 5-spoke mag wheels with black wall performance tires.
These tri-five pickups are becoming very popular and examples like
this make it easy to see why.
Interior
The interior on this truck has two tone orange and black with an
alligator skin look, with matching door panels and headliner, that
really sets this truck apart.
Upgraded gauges fill the chrome bezel and pop against the custom
dash with all its custom levers and controls, billet steering
wheel, and Chevrolet Logo radio provide an updated feel to the
interior.
Exterior
The bright orange paint really pops against the white trim and bed
cover of this 3100. The bed is finished nicely with beautiful wood
and also has a bed cover to protect it.
A nice feature is the full wrap-around rear window on our 1955 that
is iconic and will generate a lot of knowing looks from
collectors.
It has a smooth tailgate and rear roll pan make the rear end pure
eye candy and the front grill and chrome bumpers up front and in
the rear are too cool to change.
Conclusion
This is one great restoration and update of a 1955 Chevy 3100
pickup we have at Adventure Classics.
