For Sale: 1966 Ford Fairlane in Maynard, Massachusetts

Vehicle Description

VIN 6H44S109761. I'm selling this car ONLY because I'm moving back to CA to find another Fairlane; they're great cars and the convertible body style (which is completely different from the hard-tops from a chassis design standpoint). Very sleek with long, sweeping body lines. California car until 2016. Never seen snow and kept in dry storage. This is an original S-Code 390 GT with T-10 top-loader 4-speed, manual steering and drum brakes with new master cylinder and new brakes.that stop great  (planned to upgrade to front disc).  Owned in San Jose, CA since 1985; moved to MA in 2016 to care for my 93-year old Mom. T-10 totally rebuilt. I restored this car over a long period of time and everything done to the car was with the intent of keeping in indefinitely for what that's worth. Body & paint with a very nice paint job. No frame-off because it didn't need it (see pics). Color is Arcadian Blue with Corinthian Blue interior The paint job has blue metallic pearl in the clear coat which shows the body lines differently depending on the lighting. Top with glass window replaced and never used. 390 completely rebuilt with balanced crank and moderate cam. Heads machined by a race shop 1000 miles ago. Holley 830 double-pumper.

Seats are as I bought them; no updates needed; still in great shape. They have comfort-weave inserts which was an option. They do make a difference when it's hot. Makes for a cool, quiet ride with the top down so you can hear the Flow-Masters and keep cool; it makes a big difference.  Interior restored to include re-paint of dash and metal around new door panels, arm rests, carpet and thick sound/vibration deadening under the new carpet.  As you'll see in the pics, it's a bit faded from being in the sun, but still newly replaced when the car was painted in 2004.  The 'Fairlane' floor mats were added at the same time, so equally naturally faded. Easy to re-dye if you care; it's still new.

Suspension completely redone to include leafs, new coils, all bushings, ball joints. As you'll see in the photos, it is level and feels that way. Rides straight and solid without a rattle. Driven many miles to get it that way; about 30,000 miles since I bought it. This car is a reliable driver; been to uncountable car shows with lots of interest since it's so rare.  Aluminum radiator keeps it cool. Standard and electric fans. Engine compartment rewired and painted in 2013. Power convertible top that's never seen daylight..It will need a few stitching repairs but still unused. I've only driven it with the top down. Magnum 500 wheels. Long-time Maintenance receipts are available back to 1978.  Ron 408-426-6568.
