1981 Chrysler Imperial. Approximately 83K Miles. 427 Vehicles manufactured in 1981. 5.2 L 140HP with a 3 speed automatic. This car has been owned since new by Petersons, first Bob's father and then Bob. It's a great driver of a truly unique & glamorous automobile. Part of the "Peterson Collection" Lee Iacocca attempted to bring back the luxury imperial automobile after a 10 year absence from the market. The new imperial of 1981 consisted of only one model and the only options were leather seats or plus clothe and the choice of colors. This car has the plush clothe interior and is the Frank Sinatra Blue. It was advertised as the "car with it all" it was delivered with a gift pen and umbrella from Frank Sinatra and an 8 track of his songs and a signature. The imperials came with an electronic fuel injection system that turned out to be problematic and Chrysler ahd to convert most of these to carburetors. This car is all original including the EFI system. A custom continental kit has been added. Frank Sinatra teamed up with imperial but the production of this NEW imperial lasted only two years.
