Vehicle Description
Classics 1956 Ford Thunderbird Convertible
Why This Car Is Special
The Ford Thunderbird was a rear wheel drive automobile which was
manufactured by Ford in the United States over eleven model
generations from 1955 through 2005. The Thunderbird created a
market niche that eventually became known as the personal luxury
car.
We have a complete frame off restoration of a 1956 Ford Thunderbird
here at Skyway Classics that is in gorgeous original color of
Colonial White with the white interior with black trim and the
white Porthole hardtop.
Mechanical Specs
Ours has an all original engine compartment with the Optional
Hi-Performance 312 Y-Block V-8 Engine 3-Speed Manual Transmission
w/ Overdrive, Power steering and brakes, correct factory chrome air
cleaner assembly, and all the factory correct hose, clamps,
windshield washer bag, accessories.
It has the factory chrome dress up kit with the correct finned
valve covers and a chrome air cleaner that gets fresh air through
the fully functional hood scoop, with the exhaust system and the
chassis all restored too and looks original, and wears a set of
stock steel wheels with chrome wire wheels look and wide white wall
tires.
Interior
You will like the pleated Black and White vinyl interior with door
panels that match the dash. It is complete with the Town & Country
radio, Power seat, Power windows, the gauges are in original
condition and look great in the machine turned dash, and the
speedometer and odometer in kilometers.
It has a copy of factory paperwork and has had the same owner for
17 years and was originally built to be exported.
Exterior
The bodywork, fit, and finish are nicely done on our Colonial White
Exterior over Black/White Interior and has the Thunderbird's famous
"porthole" hardtop that comes in white on top of the car and the
iconic "spare tire" on the chrome rear bumper.
The graceful fins and body lines has straight panels and the
taillight end caps round out the rear end of the car. Other details
like the Thunderbird badges, fender skirts, rear bumper with
integrated exhaust outlets, and the stainless trim on the fender
skirts are all great.
