Believe it or not this MINI bodystyle has been around since the
late 50's and stuck around until the year 2000. When I say been
around, I mean in the UK. They're pretty hard to find here in the
states. With so few available in the US, only about 20% of those
are convertible. This 1982 MINI stores a 1.4L 4 cylinder between
the fenders, a 4-speed manual transmission and probably about the
shortest wheelbase you can find on a car that goes on the road. In
fact, the only thing smaller I think is the Smart car which isn't
even in the MINI's league! On the dash you'll see nice elegant wood
grain which sprawls over onto each door panel. The seats come in a
nice leather and cloth two-tone black with red piping. Open up the
rear cargo area and believe it or not you have a spare tire in
there. Well, since they're only 12" rims, it fits just fine. You'll
also find the battery located in the rear. The leather top is easy
to put up and down as it is just a few snaps and all of it tucks
neatly under the tonneau cover. There is no way I could put into
words how fun this car is to drive. Saying that it handles like
it's on rails or like a go-kart just doesn't do it justice. I think
this car is just proof that you don't have to have over the top
custom body work, paint, or even a fast car to stand out. As rare
as it is, this car stands out all by itself just the way it was
meant to be. The owner of this MINI wants to make sure that the new
owner will also be the proud owner of 5 or so tough boxes full of
goodies for this car. Really its mostly parts collected over the
years that may come in handy one day. We make financing easy and
trade ins are welcome so stop on by today and see this thing before
it's just half of an empty parking space where it used to be.
