Vehicle Description
This 1955 Dodge C3 is an eye-catcher, complete with its own
historical past. It was utilized by the Civil Defense out of Dallas
area. The Federal Civil Defense Administration (FCDA) was set up in
1951 to educate and reassure the country that there were ways to
survive an atomic attack from the Soviet Union. The FCDA used the
principles of emergency operations: prevention, mitigation,
preparation, response, emergency evacuation and recovery. These
vehicles were utilized by the FCDA as a daily, visual reminder for
our nation. The uniqueness of this truck would make it a desirable
addition to any collection. The FCDA stickers, sirens, ladder racks
with ladders and tools and flashing amber light on the cab of the
truck will certainly draw attention to it. However, the ladder
racks, ladders and other items could easily be removed to put this
truck back to stock.
The engine is a REBUILT 315 w/ a REBUILT 4-speed on the floor that
looks and runs AMAZING. This C3 was also the first year of the
pilot house wraparound front windshield that has a great look to
it. The interior has all been redone and looks AMAZING as well. If
you have any questions, give us a call to schedule an appointment
to come look at this HISTORIC beauty.
