1962 Corvette
Car History
We have a 1962 Corvette convertible here at Adventure Classics with
a red on red color scheme and white convertible top that looks just
as good today as it did in 1962, or even better, and it should as
it has been completely restored!
Engine & Drivetrain
Our 1962 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible is powered by the famous
327 cubic inch V8 small block Chevrolet engine that were all
powerful and reliable with their precision balanced assembly. It
has precision-machined forged steel crankshaft, aluminum main
bearings, 12-volt electrical system, full dual exhaust, buffed
aluminum air cleaner, and finned aluminum rocker covers.
Ours has the 250 horsepower standard Corvette V8 and features a
4-barrel carburetor, modified intake manifold, large intake valves,
large exhaust manifolds, 10.5:1 compression ratio, and is backed by
a 4-Speed transmissions with the floor mounted shifter, putting the
power to the ground via the posi-traction rear end.
Interior
The inside of our Vette shows well with the rally-inspired red
vinyl buckets that are recessed into the cockpit with red carpet
and door panels, safety belts, long padded armrests on each door,
crank-operated windows, passenger assist bar in instrument panel
cover with stowage bin below, and much more.
It has the stock red Corvette steering wheel and has a complement
of factory gauges in the instrument cluster as well as all the
correct trim, floor mats, clock, and it even has the original radio
too.
The trunk area is nice and tidy, with red painted sides and correct
floor rubber mat.
Exterior
Our 1962 has the gorgeous red Exterior over red Interior with a
bright white convertible top. A total of 14,351 Corvettes were
built, all of them convertibles.
The '62 closed out its generation and had a host of styling
refinements such as its compact grille sitting in between a pair of
smaller grilles and the twin dual headlights.
The Roman red color paint looks very deep and compliments the new
looking white vinyl convertible top.
It rides on thin white sidewall tires with the correct factory
vented chrome wheel covers with simulated knockoff hubs.
Conclusion
The 1962 Corvette convertible we have here at Adventure Classics
has been lovingly redone and looks like a million dollars with its
red on red color scheme and white convertible top.
The 1960's produced its share of memorable cars, few also offer the
confidence-inspiring road-readiness and the beauty of this 1962
Chevrolet Corvette
