Vehicle Description
This 1978 Chevrolet C10 Silverado has its numbers-matching 454
cubic-inch big block and shows all the right signs of bring a true
Big 10 package. If that wasn't already attractive enough, this one
has everything you want - from dual fuel tanks to cold-blowing
A/C.
The Big 10 is a true legend. Just like Dodge's LiL Red Express,
Chevy used their pickups to get around emissions regulations. But
more than just powerful, this one is great because of a quality
presentation. The factory correct two-tone Red Metallic and
Mahogany was given a nice respray later in life. Plus, the full
trim provides a clear dividing line while also perfectly
representing this top-of-the-line Silverado model. And the
factory-style premium appearance is capped off by the factory Rally
wheels with chrome beauty rings. The odometer is believed to
reflect the actual mileage. So this truck has averaged less than
2,200 miles annually. Not all pickups get respected correctly like
this one, but the story we're told is that it was in long-term care
by the same family for most of its life so far. Being an heirloom
doesn't mean skipping out on the chores. The liner paint not only
looks good, but also it lets you take full advantage of this long
bed model. You've even got a proper trailer hitch and wide large
mirrors. And dual fuel tanks let you haul further between
fill-ups.
Inside is more of the loaded and vintage Silverado attitude. It's a
nice mix of preservation and the correct restoration parts to give
a stock but quality look to the dash, carpeting, door panels, and
headliner. We especially like the reupholstered seat that still has
its classic button-top presentation. The steering wheel is on a
tilt column, and the gauge package wraps around you, so it's easy
to get comfortable in this Silverado. There's even a rare tach
which is quite handy when towing. Plus, you have well-placed
upgrades, like the AM/FM/cassette stereo w/aux input and the
factory air conditioning is now blowing cold with modern R134a.
Under the hood is numbers matching 454 cubic inch V8. The build tag
also shows other HD suspension components that would been needed to
raise the GVWR for the Big 10 package. And while the blue on this
big block makes it look quite stock, you'll want to dig a little
deeper. This mighty motor now inhales deeper with an Edelbrock 800
CFM four-barrel carburetor and a Holley Street Dominator intake.
And the newer dual exhaust with Flowmasters lets it exhale with a
nice big block sound. It's a powerful motor that runs terrific, and
so you'll be happy to have the TH400 three-speed automatic
transmission that's both stout and smooth. Plus, the power steering
and power brakes with front discs add to a terrific total cruising
package.

warranty card, owner's manual, and factory build tag. So you've got
