Garage Kept Motors.) This is a true '54 Corvette roadster taken to
the next level over a 3 year period. Our client acquired the car as
nothing but a pile of parts and pieces approximately 5 years ago,
and with a vision of what the end product should look like, he
worked with a local shop to make it come to fruition. Built with
high standards, every inch of this car was checked over, and the
final product is just amazing! It truly looks like a work of art as
it sits in our showroom. Candy Apple Red paint covers all the
curves of this '54. The depth of the paint really shows in direct
light and the metallic flake makes it look like a million bucks.
The classic shape of the '54 Vette has been left unchanged from
when the car rolled off the assembly line. The original and
re-chromed chrome accents are in place and in beautiful condition.
Anything less than new chrome just wouldn't look right next to the
jaw dropping Candy Apple Red paint. A look into the interior of
this roadster reveals an excellent finish, and quality materials.
Al Knoch interior pieces were used for the seats, leather trim, and
carpeting. Autometer auxiliary gauges and tachometer sit in the
white painted dashboard, while the original speedometer was adapted
to work with the 12 volt system. Modern components that have been
neatly integrated are a Kenwood stereo, Rockford Fosgate speakers,
Vintage Air air conditioning, and a Flaming River steering column.
The trunk is finished with the same top of the line materials, and
excellent fit and finish as the interior. A Corvette LS3 crate
engine mated to a Tremec 5-speed, and a Dana 4.11 rear end put a
little more pep in this Vette's step than the original Inline-6.
The engine sits in a very clean engine bay which features a number
of billet aluminum, polished aluminum, and Candy Apple Red painted
components. To bring this awesome car to a stationary position, a
complete set of Wilwood drilled and slotted performance brakes
consist of 13 rotors in the front with 6 piston calipers and 4
piston calipers in the rear. Polymatrix brake pads were installed
in the red powder coated calipers. A Master Power dual stage master
cylinder and Lokar parking brake kit are other components of the
braking system to note. The body sits on a custom frame, which is
an important piece of the puzzle on this car. Built by Street Shop
Inc of Athens Alabama, the frame features newer Corvette
independent suspension, power steering, and the aforementioned disc
brakes. A look at the underside of the car shows a QA1 coilover
suspension, aluminum axles, balanced aluminum driveshaft, and
aftermarket sway bars. A stainless steel Magnaflow exhaust snakes
its way around the frame, and helps make sure you hear the sound of
the LS3. At idle or full tilt, it sounds amazing! Rolling stock
consists of American RacingTorq Thrust II wheels wrapped in
Michelin Pilot tires. Iconic styling meets modern comforts and
driving characteristics in this awesome classic Vette. Our client's
vision paired with a plethora of nice parts, and the work of highly
experienced technicians have made this project into a work of
automotive art. Be sure to check out all the photos and video on
