Welcome to StreetDreamsTexas as we celebrate our 21st year in the
classic and muscle car business. As the Texas Hill Country's
premier source for classic cars, we've bought, sold, and traded for
literally thousands of fine automobiles during the past two
decades. Very few, however, have oozed as much class as this
beautiful 1953 Bentley R-Type Steel Sports Saloon. The R-Type was a
sister to the Rolls-Royce Silver Dawn and produced from 1952-1955.
It was the last Rolls model to have prewar styling and the last
Bentley to date offered with a manual transmission. Beneath the
sleek silver bonnet is a silky-smooth 4.6L I6 engine that can
propel this masterpiece to over 100 mph in near silence, thanks in
part to a split manifold and four (!) factory-correct mufflers.
Additional features include right-hand drive, four-speed manual
transmission, driver adjustable shocks (in '53!), a fascinating
Girling-Bijur chassis lubrication system, semaphore turn signals,
sun roof, fresh Connelly leather upholstery, burled walnut trim,
Wilton wool carpet, grey wool broadcloth headliner, burled walnut
folding tray tables, adjustable arm rests, rear seat foot rests
(!), correct under dash tool kit, correct trunk tools, correct
under hood oil syringe and grease gun, original owner's manual,
rear window defroster, and fog lamp. A concealed newer stereo with
Bluetooth capability and cruise control have been added to enhance
longer cruises in this classy classic. This beauty runs and drives
exceptionally well, and although not quite at a Pebble Beach
Concours level, she would be a treasured addition to any
collection. Chauffer and Grey Poupon not included! Street Dreams
(830-997-1950) is a full service dealership that can assist with
worldwide delivery, insurance, and financing options.
