Vehicle Description
HIGHLIGHTS: Classic Forward Look Mopar that just can't be
substituted! This is one of the most iconic Mopar body-styles of
the 1950s, and represents just about everything Plymouth stood for
at that time.
BODY OVERVIEW: The body is clean and straight, all of the rare
chrome and trim is in place. This is an older restoration that has
been shown and preserved as such.
This is an American icon that has been restored to original
condition and kept up over the years. This car appears to have been
built as a show vehicle at one time. It has held up well, and would
be a great candidate for a weekend cruiser or for fun shows/events.
The body is in great overall shape, and this car needs nothing
cosmetically to be enjoyed.
PAINT CONDITION OVERVIEW: This car was repainted in the original
Sand Dune White color. Interestingly enough, Sand Dune White was
the only color available on the Fury for 1957.
When freshly restored, this appears to have been a top-notch
restoration. While this Fury is beginning to show some age since
then, it is still a highly presentable car that would be a
beautiful addition to any collection. The paint is in excellent
condition with no bubbling or areas of concern. Some of the chrome
is original and starting to show some age.
INTERIOR CONDITION OVERVIEW: Original-style cloth and vinyl
interior. The interior is in good condition, it was certainly
refinished along with the rest of the car. Anyone who knows Forward
Look Mopars knows that classic Mopar cloth/vinyl combination! The
restorer opted to keep this car original, and that extends to the
interior.
The interior is showing some wear here and there, and could use
some TLC on the chrome pieces, but this is at least a 10-year-old
restoration and that is to be expected. The interior is complete,
and much like the exterior all of the hard-to-find parts appear to
be in place. The unique door panels, headliner and trim are all
present and in great shape.
MECHANICAL OVERVIEW: This Fury is equipped with a Chrysler 301 poly
or "wide block" as some call it. This engine would have had a 4-bbl
from factory but now has been equipped with the 2x4bbl carb setup
that would have been present on the 318 Fury. It runs nice and
quiet, just like an upscale Plymouth ought to.
This may not be a high-powered muscle car, but the 301 poly is no
slouch. Outfitted with dual carburetors, this Fury has plenty of
power and really embodies what Chrysler products were known for;
big cars that are fun to drive. The push-button transmission is a
must-have for any 1950s Mopar, and is coveted both as a novelty and
a correct vehicle option.
WHAT YOU'LL LOVE ABOUT THIS CAR: This is the essential Forward Look
Mopar that will be recognized by enthusiasts and passerby
everywhere. If nothing else, it is sure to draw a crowd anywhere
you take it.
WHAT YOU MIGHT HATE ABOUT THIS CAR: Christine... All kidding aside,
there is a few electrical issues that need to be sorted out, take a
glance at the does it work checklist below and you'll see that the
headlights, reverse lights, wipers, etc.. are not operational and
need to be addressed.
DOES IT NEED ANYTHING? The GEN light comes on sometimes, so a
generator rebuild may be in the future. Additionally, the original
heater assembly has been removed, so if you want heat that would
need to be addressed.
WHAT BUYER IS LOOKING FOR THIS CAR? Anyone looking to add an
essential to their Mopar collection, or the Mopar enthusiast
looking for that collection centerpiece. This is for someone who
enjoys taking their car to shows, but wants to drive it there.
