Vehicle Description
1955 Chevrolet Bel Air Convertible
55 Convertibles are pretty rare to begin with and this one has been
customized and taken to the next level making it even more unique.
We can't describe enough how well built this car is. It is truly
one of a kind. It underwent a full frame off build that transformed
it into an eye catching custom that always stands out in a crowd.
It has 6,100 miles on it since completed and has been extremely
well maintained since. It still has that freshly restored look and
needs nothing. The body has all of the original sheet metal which
is in excellent condition with zero rust. It is painted in a Silver
and White color combo that has a beautiful shine. The doors, hood
and deck lid have been shaved which gives it a very slick clean
exterior. All of the chrome has a beautiful shine and the custom
grill gives it a great looking front end. The convertible top is
done in Black and the material is in great shape. The car has a
great stance and rides around on American Racing Torq Thrust
wheels. The tires have a lot of life left and are 275/50R17.
The car isn't just looks because the entire drivetrain has been
redone as well. It is the type of car you can hop in and drive
anywhere. It now features a Ram Jet 350 motor that starts up and
runs great. It has chrome Chevrolet valve covers, chrome Heartbeat
wire looms, a chrome brake booster, and all braided lines. The
entire engine compartment has a very clean show ready look with
billet hood hinges and painted to match firewall and inner fenders.
Paired with the motor is a 700R4 automatic transmission that shifts
smoothly and sends power back to the posi Ford 9 inch rear end with
3:50 gears. It has disc brakes under all four corners which are
Wilwood. They are power assisted which along with power brakes
makes it a very comfortable driver.
The interior of the car is extremely unique and very well done. It
is finished in a two tone Grey which is done in leather with
Stingray hide inserts. The Stingray texture is very cool and always
a conversation starter. It has buckets in both front and rear. In
between the front buckets are a custom center console which
incorporates storage space, a cup holder, the stereo and a TV. In
back there is also a custom center console that has a TV as well.
The dash has the original style gauge set up but the stock bowtie
trim piece has been replace with a nice billet piece. The steering
column is tilt and all chromed. It is topped off with a custom
steering wheel with Chevy bowtie horn button. It has a classic AC
system which blows cold as well as power seats and power windows.
Being that the doors are shaved you open them via electric door
poppers. The trunk has a TV in it as well and utilizes the same
leather and Stingray combo.
This is such a well done nice car that is ready to be shown and
enjoyed. Convertibles are always desirable and with all of these
customizations this car really stands out.
