Vehicle Description
This 1959 Chevrolet Apache has enhanced V8 power, and upgraded
suspension, four-wheel disc brakes, and four-on-the-floor. So while
tis has the makings for a means street pickup, this one also gives
you the comfort of custom A/C interior. So you're going to love it
for far more than just the distinct sheetmetal.
The Apache series was a short run of Chevy pickups with some of the
most angular panels around. And that's especially true in stepside
form. This one has been updated with a deep green borrowed from a
Lexus palette, but it also has a finish that doesn't want to be too
upper class. The result is a distinctively dark/intimidating look
with an attitude that says it's not afraid to have some fun on the
streets. And those bright 20-inch American Mags wheels with modern
sport tires back up this speedy image. The white bumpers look nice
against the green, the grille has the right amount of polish, and
the bed has premium real lumber. So there's an overall attraction
to this truck for its vintage, tough, and upgraded style all rolled
into one.
The dark green with white accenting continues inside. There are
some nice custom details, like the smooth custom dash, glowing
green interior lighting, and a vintage tuck-and-roll pattern on the
seat. Plus, you have some handy upgrades like power windows and
cold-blowing air conditioning. It's also built for a terrific
driver's setup with a sports steering wheel on a tilt column, power
steering, and a full set of AutoMeter gauges. And the tach goes
particularly well with the Hurst shifter.
Under the hood, the dark inner walls funnels your attention to the
bright 350 cubic-inch V8 in the middle. This has a tidy setup where
you'll notice quality components, like the Optima red top battery,
steel braided hoses, and an aluminum radiator w/electric fan. But
what you'll love best of all are the performance upgrades to the
motor. This V8 has been enhanced with aluminum heads, an upgraded
camshaft, an upgrade intake, and topped with an Edelbrock
four-barrel carburetor. Plus, Hooker headers add extra power while
contributing to the rumble of the dual exhaust. The four-speed
manual transmission and 3.42 Positraction rear end mean a versatile
package that gives you firm control all the way to the ground. As
you look at the undercarriage photos, you'll also spot an upgraded
front end and traction bars on the rear. And the four-wheel power
disc brakes setup is far superior to what you get in most other
classic trucks.
