Vehicle Description
The truck you've always wanted to build is ready to hit the road or
trail today. This takes a 1958 Chevrolet Cameo body and puts it on
a 1957 GMC chassis and upgrades it all to a tall 4x4. And there's
plenty of V8 power to move it all.
This truck knows how to instantly announce it's something
different. The '58 Chevy design is one of the most distinctive
trucks around, and the sleek bed of the Cameo follows the
well-creased bodyline to give this the same kind of stylish detail
you'd almost expect in a car. These even have tailfins! But what
the original Cameos were done for style, this one is also about
ruggedness. The bumpers and grille are covered in a durable liner
paint that also make a nice contrast to the glossy red on the body.
The black also coordinates with the 18-inch wheels, side steps, and
trailer hitch mount for an almost two-tone feeling. Even the truck
bed is finished in red and black, and it's lined for rugged
duty.
Inside is more of that great red and black. The two-tone is
intertwined on the dash, door panels, and seats for a uniform total
package. There are some nice features, like the desirable big black
window cab that really gives off a nice airy atmosphere. But what
you'll really like the most is how this is built to be driven. The
grippy three-spoke steering wheel is on a tilt column. Plus, the
gauges are a custom Stewart Warner setup with a large speedometer
directly in front of you and all the other essentials are easy to
see at eye-level on top of the dash.
Just in case people didn't already take note of this custom truck,
they'll really see how cool it is the moment you open the hood. The
whole front section tilts forward to showcase the engine bay and
give you easy access to the whole V8 setup. This is a 366
cubic-inch motor that has added performance with a Holley
four-barrel carburetor, Weiand intake, and Hedman headers that add
power while contributing to the rumble of the dual exhaust. This
has an upgraded 4x4 setup with a two-speed transfer case. It goes
nicely with the tall stance and Nitto Dura Grappler tires for true
off-road ability. But even when you just want this for some in-town
fun, you have good driving features, like the three-speed automatic
transmission, power steering, and power brakes w/discs up
front.
A Cameo is already rare sight, and this one makes sure it's
memorable even in that crowd. So if you want a classic 4x4 of true
distinction, call today!
