Vehicle Description
This 1965 Shelby Cobra delivers the iconic speedy looks, proper V8
power, and that irresistible side pipe rumble... and it does it all
for quite a nice price.
Wide fenders, wide tires, big hood scoop, and an even bigger roll
hoop: these are all the right pieces that instantly let you know a
proper Cobra has arrived. It certainly has the competition-ready
attitude down with the red paint with dual racing stripes. But this
also has a bit of grand touring sports car flair with the full
bright bumpers and luggage rack on the rear. Plus, there's an
overall feeling of quality that comes from owning a North American
Fiberglass replica. NAF was known for quality pieces, and we don't
see too many of them around today.
The interior continues the car's race-ready attitude, but they also
left room for some well-integrated comfort. For example, you still
get the proper low-back classic buckets with classic race belts,
but you'll also see they are sculpted with some added bolstering.
Plus, there's a nice vinyl tonneau to go over the top. The grippy
sports steering wheel, B&M shifter, and dash full of SW gauges
are all there to give you the tingle of performance even before you
twist the key and hear the side pipes roar.
The engine bay gets proper blue oval power with Ford's hardy 289
cubic-inch V8. So it's great to see it also has the proper Cobra
treatment with the long Cobra air topper and ribbed Cobra valve
covers. The V8 has been enhanced with go-fast goodies like a
double-pumper four-barrel carburetor, mid-rise intake, and headers
that add power while contributing to the thunder of those side
pipes. The three-speed automatic transmission has a smooth action
for nice grand touring comfort, and it also has a shift kit to keep
you in the optimal powerband when enjoying performance driving.
This also features a strong square tube chassis, front disc brakes,
and a four-link rear w/adjustable coilovers.
This is a well-priced Cobra with plenty of the extras you want. So
