Vehicle Description
We're all looking for a classic that represents its era so well,
and that's what makes this 1979 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 so instantly
appealing. It has been in the same family all its life so far, and
the only additions were about restoring it back to its original
style look. So to find a loaded V8 all-black Z/28 that has a
genuine history is a terrific classic up for grabs.
The look of the later second-gen Camaro has matured into one we
absolutely love. Full color-matched front end, hood scoop, the
factory body kit, and full-width rear spoiler created a car that
was both sleek and mean. It's a desirable look, and it's not always
easy to find one seeming stock. After all, these were great for
modifications, and so few of them survived with their factory
appearance. This one was purchased new only about an hour from our
showroom and has always been under the care of the same family. It
was even in storage for the last 13 years. So that's how this can
be one of the rare stock-style examples. This did not spend its
life untouched, and instead, it was given some careful investments.
For example, the factory black has been given a quality respray so
that it retains its glossy and intimidating look. Against this
darkness it's also easy to see great Z/28 features like the full
striping package and optional turbine-style alloys.
The interior keep the time capsule appearance, and it's loaded,
too. The high-back buckets look and feel excellent. They have a
comfy cloth insert, which is quite handy for those times you want
to enjoy this with the T-tops out. The cold-blowing air
conditioning is also another great reason to enjoy the open-air
experience even in the summertime. There are more great features
like power windows, power locks, cruise control, and the Delco
AM/FM stereo. The dash, door panels, center console, and more are
all exceptionally well preserved. And the black carpeting was even
replaced to keep this classic feeing fresh. It's a detail-oriented
look from the special corded grip around the Z/28 steering wheel to
the factory storage bags for the T-tops.
The engine bay continues the extraordinarily preserved look.
Everything is correct and clean, right down to the "Keep Your GM
Car All GM" decal on the air cleaner. The consignor states this 350
cubic-inch V8 is the original motor. Not only does the block code
reaffirm it, but also it's part of the highly original package you
get from a coupe with this kind of desirable history. Emissions
regulations meant this powerplant didn't always have the best
horsepower figures of the Camaros, but the ace up its sleeve was
that the motor has similar torque figures to the Mercedes sports
cars of the day. Plus, this one gives you the most out of the V8
thanks to the a four-barrel carburetor on top. Adding to this
driver's attitude are features like power steering, power front
disc brakes, sway bars front & rear, a three-speed automatic
transmission, and new BF Goodrich tires.
Complete with owner's manual, this is the factory all-black car
that has a ton of history and just the right investments to make it
a stock-style stunner. Don't miss this awesome Z/28. Call now!
