Vehicle Description
This 1981 Chevrolet Corvette does it all the right ways. More than
just the low mileage and an affordable price, you get the late C3
clean design with an instantly recognizable added flair from the
side pipes. So it makes for a vivid bright red classic that has
even more eye-catching appeal.
This is an original red car - always a desirable feature for
Corvettes. It has been given a re-spray later in life to make sure
it has the right shine in the sunlight, but there's enough age on
it so no one will accuse you of owning a trailer queen. This
combines with straight body panels to showcase the sharp edges and
rounded fenders we love on these C3s. While the body is quite free
of brightwork for a more contemporary look, that doesn't mean they
skipped out on the high polish presentation entirely. It's just
saved for accessories like optional 15-inch factory aluminum
wheels. And those polished side pipes really give this a cool
attitude while also instantly connecting to previous generations of
the Corvette.
The factory-correct Camel tan leather interior looks fantastic
against the red paint. So we know you'll love taking the T-tops out
and showing off this total package. This one also gives you a nice
list of desirable features, like power windows, power mirrors,
electric rear defogger, cruise control, and an upgraded AM/FM/CD
stereo with aux input so you can plug in your iPod. There are even
provisions for power locks and factory air conditioning (will need
servicing to be fully functional.) This has a terrific driver's
setup where the later form-hugging bucket seats include a power
driver's one so you can easily get into the ideal comfort
positions. The tilt wheel gives you a clear view of the large
speedo and tach. We love how the C3 gives you all the other gauges
prominently placed in the top center of the car.
Under the hood is the original 350 cubic-inch V8. It has been
dressed up nicely with polished components and an Edelbrock air
grabber, but it also has history thanks to the right date codes to
be the original powerhouse. It inhales deeply with a four-barrel
carburetor, and wrapped headers feed the shining side pipes to give
this distinctive Corvette a distinctive growl. The three-speed
automatic transmission is also believed to be original to the car,
and it provides a confident feeling through the gears. A fully
independent sports suspension, power steering, and four-wheel power
disc brakes all come together to make a great driving package.
The sale comes complete with service manuals and a car cover. This
is a low odometer coupe averaging only about 1,800 miles annually.
It makes for a well-kept package that's the right mix of correct
pieces and worthwhile upgrades. Call now!
