• Paint and Body

The Flame Red (74U) paint on this Trans Am GTA is almost as nice as it was when the car was at the Chevy dealership in 1987.    The bold color of the body makes a wonderful contrast with Camel-colored cloth interior.  There are a few chips (see photos) and one slight “parking dent” on the driver’s door—all normal for a car of this vintage.

The underside of this Trans Am GTA appears solid and sound.  The dealer undercoated the car when new with a “lifetime warranty”!

The rear deck lid has remote release and is equipped with the factory rear window defogger option.  With the rear seats folded forward, there is abundant storage space for everything but your kayak! 

• Interior

The Camel-color cloth interior is clean and fresh-looking, as one would expect.

The gauges all work as do the lights and horn. The speedometer, tachometer and turn signals likewise work properly.  Even the clock works!

• Engine

This Trans Am GTA was ordered with the optional 5.7 V-8 engine providing the power for this comfortable cruiser to suddenly become a muscle car. At the turn of the key he engine comes to life with a promising exhaust rumble.

• Transmission

The automatic 4-speed transmission works smoothly and properly, and the car’s handling is enhanced by the limited slip differential.

• Brakes

There are power disc brakes on all 4 wheels, bringing this Trans Am GTA  to a quick halt without any pulling from side to side.  The (original?) V-rated tires are mounted on Pontiac’s 16” Diamond Spoke aluminum wheels.
