Vehicle Description
STK 2664 1957 Ford Fairlane 500
This partially restored 1957 Ford Fairlane 500 convertible is a
head-turner. It received a partial restoration in 2017 beginning
with a professional re-spray of what appears to be the original
Colonial White finish. All chrome is excellent and whitewall
radials are mounted on 14" steel wheels with factory correct
hubcaps. The restored interior incorporates reupholstered red/white
leather seating, new door cards/carpets, gauge package, factory
push-button AM radio (in-op) and aftermarket AM/FM/cassette. The
black convertible top is power operated and in excellent condition.
Our Fairlane 500 is powered by a 312ci Y-block 'Thunderbird'
Special' V8 (D-code) rated at 245 hp with single Holley 4V carb and
dual exhaust. Our owner states that the motor has not been rebuilt.
(According to the VIN sequence, this is the engine option that was
installed by the factory.) A Ford-O-Matic automatic gearbox
supplies torque to a factory differential with stock gearing. These
early Ford-O-Matic gearboxes were 3-speed units that, under normal
driving conditions, would start out in 2nd gear. In order to use
low gear, the driver would need to shift into 'L" or accelerate
hard from a stop. The solid chassis is equipped with large 11" drum
brakes, new exhaust and new fuel tank. Come take a close look at
this beautiful, partially restored Fairlane 500 - it belongs in
your Blue Oval garage. ALL VEHICLES SOLD "AS IS".
