Vehicle Description
This first-year 1957 Ford Ranchero has a serious V8 upgrade and
full a custom color package. So dig into the details of an
exceptionally cool cruiser that you can pick up for an affordable
price.
When was the last time you saw a 1957 Ranchero? It's probably been
a while because these pickups with car-like sensibilities are quite
rare. In fact, Ford barely made just over 20,000 of these in this
inaugural year... and that was over 60 years ago. So it's great to
have a complete and shining custom example like this, because so
few are around today. In fact, this is a one-year-only style that
has unique features like the single headlight, outward pointing
grille, and thick chrome bumper. And this example adds flair to its
rarity. The purple metallic and ivory two-tone paint has a great
shine that instantly announces this is a custom machine. But it
also respects its history. For example, this uses correct factory
full-length trim line as a dividing line for the two colors, and it
looks terrific as it sharply dips behind the doors. There's a
street machine attitude with vintage performance upgrades like the
Cragar SS wheels, half chrome headlight eyelids, streamlined
tonneau cover, and large dual exhaust tips.
The exterior purple returns on the interior dash and doors, but we
bet that's not what first caught your eye. Those brown velour seats
have the kind of street machine attitude that will make you want to
listen to Lowrider on demand (and with the upgraded AM/FM/cassette
stereo w/CD changer, that's no problem!) But more than just
distinctive. The ultra-cushy seats also have individual armrests,
so your all-day comfort is basically guaranteed. Plus, with the
Grant sports steering wheel and upgraded gauges (w/Bosch tach) you
know there's some serious power behind this cruiser attitude.
The forward-tilting hood gives you a clear view to all the big
block power. The 460 cubic-inch V8 inhales deeply with a Holley
four-barrel carburetor. And it exhales with a sweet big block tune
out of the dual exhaust. The whole engine bay has the look of
quality, from the crisp hoses to the upgraded aluminum radiator
w/electric fan. So that's why this motor fires up nicely and runs
strong. The C6 three-speed transmission was built stout to handle
all this power and torque while delivering easy automatic shifting.
Plus, power steering, front disc brakes, and wide Cooper Cobra
tires give this a nice driving experience.
