Beautiful inside and out, this 1975 Jaguar XJ6-C is an elegant
hardtop coupe with a hidden secret. The motor is more robust and
torque-happy thanks to an upgrade to 350 cubic inches of Chevy
power. Plus, there's an overdrive transmission, fully independent
suspension, and a leather-lined A/C interior. So you can look great
while having the confidence to go the distance in this classic
coupe.
The XJ coupe was a rare and special treat. It retained all the best
features we loved in the XJ sedan, including the contoured quad
headlight design, sleek cat-like profile, and smooth rear end that
tapered inward. But the big doors and pillarless hardtop roofline
will always give this an extra distinction of a custom crafted
British machine. The exceptional body panels, polished bumpers, and
luster-filed deep green are signs that there have been some solid
investments in keep this classic looking elegant. But there's more
going on here. The chainmesh grille, modern Jaguar badge, tinted
windows, and the design of the 18-inch alloys are all there to
update the look with a little modern XJR flair... and that seems
fitting considering what's under the hood (more on that in a
moment.)
The distinct pillarless hardtop means people get an excellent look
inside, and so you'll be glad to have such a sharp-looing interior.
The recovered seats have a fresh look, plush feel, and they go
nicely with the gray carpeting and headliner. The door panels,
gearstick, and dual-spoke steering wheel all have that classic
Jaguar look and feel, but that's not the only impression you get.
The center section has been updated with nice upgrades like a new
air conditioning system, an AM/FM stereo with Bluetooth, and new
switches for everything from the power windows to the dual fuel
tanks. It's all set in a carbon fiber panel that also houses the
full Speedhut gauge package.
Lift the hood for an interesting surprise. This Jaguar has been
given a Chevy small block transplant. This is part of a
longstanding tradition of swapping out the British motor for hardy
American muscle. There's even an Edelbrock upgrade package that
includes the ribbed valve covers, air filter, polished intake, and
four-barrel carburetor. As you look around, there are all the right
supporting components of a quality build, including an EZ Wiring
harness, HEI distributor, upgraded pulleys, and a large aluminum
radiator w/dual electric fans. This was built to be driven, and
that's why you have the 700R4 four-speed automatic transmission
w/overdrive. There are also more worthwhile newer additions, like
the newer brake system, KYB shocks, and Firestone Firehawk tires.
That all makes for a fine upgrade, and remember, all the best parts
of the Jaguar drivetrain are still intact. That means a
European-tuned fully-independent suspension and four-wheel disc
brakes. So this car is the perfect blend of a reliable heart and
precision legs.
This is an awesome all-around classic for luxury, power, and
elegance. So at a price like this, you know you have to act quickly
to snatch it up. Call today!!!
