Sharp looking 1953 F-100 in black sitting on vintage white walls and smoothies!
Motor is reliable 351 Windsor with MSD ignition, headers, Holley 4-bbl on Edelbrock aluminum intake, billet pulleys & alternator, chrome valve covers and electric fan. Nice rumble coming from the 2 1/2" dual exhaust that exits thru chrome tips in the rear. Truck is all steel with exception of fiberglass running boards.
Paint is deep black with large silver flakes including hand painted red/silver accents on hood, tailgate, door handles and fenders. The interior is silver/gray cloth on vinyl bench seat with matching headliner and door cards. Has a digital instrument panel, banjo wheel and nice Blaupunkt Radio/CD player.
Truck sits on newer Cragar Chrome wheels wrapped in Goodrich Silvertown Whitewall Radials (P235/70R15 front and P255/70R15 rear).
I'm including the cloth car cover along with the original 1953 Ford Truck Shop Manual. This truck is not a trailer queen and meant to be driven! In the short time I've had it, it's common to get "thumbs up", horn honks and stares from passerby's! I purchased in February with intention of painting candy/pearl red but... after quotes included tearing completely apart to do it right, thought it best to sell and look for a red one! I have a clear title so transfer will be quick and painless!
I am second "family" to own this truck. Here's history from previous owner who sold to me:
"Beautiful 1953 Ford F-100, bought new by my father for use as a general-purpose vehicle for the family business for the first 19 years. I bought it when I was 16 years old. At that point, it had 53,000 miles on it. I used the truck for a couple of years and sold it. About a year later, I bought it back from the man I sold it to and started to restore it back to original. It ended up sitting for another 18 years. This last time, it got a professional restoration. It was completely disassembled and painted black with silver flake. The original flathead was removed and replaced with a 351 Windsor engine (blueprinted and balanced) and mated to a C6 automatic transmission. Power steering, front disc brakes, power windows, a new wood bed and tailgate were added. The seats were repaired and recovered. The chrome was either re-chromed or replaced with new. The engine has great power and moves the pickup with ease."
