Vehicle Description
CPR Classic is delighted to offer this fully restored 1965 Porsche
356 SC Coupe finished in its matching color combination of
Champagne Yellow over a black interior. This beautiful 356SC has
just completed a full ground-up restoration to the highest
standards by a very talented private restorer out of Oregon and an
excellent CPR client.
The restorer purchased the car back in 2015 as a very straight and
complete driver that required restoration to be taken to show
level. The restoration began with a full disassembly. The tub was
then sent to a notable painter in Oregon where just over $30,000
was spent completely refinishing the exterior in the car's correct
exterior color of Champagne Yellow.
The numbers-matching engine was sent to Competition Engineering for
a full overhaul, which included installing a sizable big-bore kit.
90MM Durabar cylinders and 90MM CE pistons were installed, giving
the engine a displacement of 1883cc. This configuration provides
the car with fantastic added bottom-end torque, with an estimated
power of 105-115hp. Carburetor Rescue overhauled the Solex
carburetors. The cosmetics of the engine were finished by the
restorer, which are correct throughout with proper plating, surface
finishes, engine tins, and decals.
All of the car's suspension components were refinished to factory
standards. The steering box was remanufactured by Zims AutoTechnik,
who also provided the king pins and overhaul kits for the
spindles.
Once assembly was near complete, the car was sent to Autos
International, where a full new interior was installed in Black
German leather. This included carpet, headliner, seat overhauls
with new padding, and refinished chrome and hardware. All leather
surfaces are new, including dash, all seats, door panels, garnish
rails, and armrests.
Once the interior was complete, the car arrived at CPR Classic,
where it went through a detailed inspection grading all of the work
performed. The result of this restoration is fantastic. The car was
finished to CPR's standards, and multiple vendors that we use, such
as Competition Engineering and Autos International, were utilized
in the car's completion. The vehicle spent several weeks in our
assembly shop being sorted and prepared. It is now a fully sorted
turn-key example that is ready to be driven or shown at any Porsche
event in the world.
If you are in the market for a 356SC that is ready for concours, or
hours of long touring drives and enjoyment, this is a must consider
example.
