The 1957 Morris Minor 1000 2Door Saloon
You are looking at a rarely seen Morris Minor 1000 2door Saloon. This MM was made for the American market and has the left side steering wheel we use in the USA. This car is an absolute delight to drive as long as your not in a hurry! Although this MM starts right up and runs great, the 37hp 948cc A-series I4 engine takes 31.3 seconds to get to 60mph and has a top speed of 75mph. Obviously, this car is not breaking any speed records but it does get around quite nicely and is trouble free. It shifts easily and mechanically needs nothing.
Garage kept in the midwest all its life, the body and paint are in great condition especially since the last repaint was in 1978. Both are still very presentable and quite impressive after nearly 43 years. You can zoom into the photos to see for yourself. There is some minor surface rust on the drivers side rear lower wheel well on the outside only (as shown). There are no rust holes and no rust underneath. Again, Not bad at all after after 43 years. The chrome is all original and in excellent condition with no hazing or pitting.
The interior is in nice shape. Everything works as intended. The seats and door cards are in excellent condition with no tares to either. The carpet is in decent condition but it looks as though it was installed back in the 70s when the Morris was restored and repainted. There is an aftermarket radio which also looks as if it came from the 70s. It does work.
From the history and documentation included, we believe this to be a 4 owner car.
