This exceptional 1966 Shelby Cobra Mark IV is a prime example of
what a replicar should be. The car is an Everett-Morrison 427SC Gen
IV, delivered in 2007. It is constructed around a chassis of 4"
round stainless steel tube rails. The 'hand-laid' vinyl ester resin
'427SC' body was finished in Tuxedo Black gel coat w/white stripes.
The black vinyl interior looks as good as the day it was installed
and each bucket seat is equipped with a Simpson 4-point
racing-style lap/shoulder harness. A full compliment of gauges is
perfectly positioned in the dash and a Pioneer AM/FM/CD player has
been installed - but may not sound as good as the side pipes.
Ferrule set stainless steel heat shields lined with wheel-well foam
are built into the foot boxes. A tilt wheel, heater/defroster
system and full stainless roll bar complete the package. Under the
hood is a Shelby American aluminum block 427FE that has been
stroked to 468ci, balanced and blueprinted. It was built using
Shelby Racing components - forged pistons, H-beam rods, aluminum
heads and 'Road Race' baffled oil pan. It is fitted with a Holley
850cfm double-pumper, electric fuel pump, hydraulic roller cam,
roller rockers and E&M oil-cooler system. A 26" HD radiator
with 1-1/4" tubes and a 23" shroud manages cooling. Exhaust is
routed through stainless side pipes and the resulting output is
550bhp-560lb/ft of torque. The FE big-block is backed by a Tremec
TKO 600 5-speed with Centerforce flywheel/clutch and full Lakewood
bell housing. The Trackion Lok aluminum differential houses
8.8"/3.55:1 gears and connects billet heat-treated half-shafts. The
suspension is a fully independent EM design that utilizes coil-over
shocks and stainless steel control arms. Brakes are power-assisted
4-wheel disc with 13"f/11.65"r rotors and brake cooling ducts.
Compomotive Motosport 17" alloys utilize a 5-bolt pattern, but
maintain the vintage Halibrand knock-off appearance. The 21-gallon
fuel tank w/foam baffling can be upgraded to a true racing fuel
cell by simply adding a bladder. This is a serious Cobra and our
current owner has taken very good care of it - he is now ready to
pass it on to the next caretaker. If you want a big-block Cobra
that you can actually drive and enjoy, this is your car. ALL
VEHICLES SOLD "AS IS".
