Vehicle Description
Powerful, beautiful, fast, nimble, and loaded - this 1998 BMW M3
Convertible should be on the top of your list for modern classics.
So instead of waiting for this to be a high-dollar vintage, maybe
it's time you take home this premium but affordable
convertible.
BMW just seemed to get the design right in this generation. The
well-creased lines of the 3-Series get an added dose of aggression
with a full factory aero body kit, a subtle rear spoiler, and
special 17-inch alloys. Estoril Blue Metallic is a great factory
color. The tone is both bold and sophisticated, and so it just
seems like the ideal paring for a speedy M3 convertible. For added
distinction, there's a brand new folding roof, and it's done in a
darker blue (the power convertible top will need servicing.) It's
the kind of color combo we usually see in other European cars like
Bentleys. There's even terrific details, like the custom pinstripe
inspired by the M-series colors. The result is quite a striking car
that's almost ready for vintage plates in may states.
While we love the look of the blue top against the blue paint, the
gray leather interior arguably looks even more sophisticated
against the exterior color. In fact, there was even a recent
investment in new leather seats, so these look crisp, right down to
the cool M tri-color insert. The front bucket seats are engineered
to be supportive, and they power adjust to your ideal position.
There are also power locks, power windows, keyless entry, dual
airbags, side airbags, cruise control, anti-lock brakes, power
steering, and provisions for the factory stereo. There's dual zone
climate control and recently added seat heaters. So that means you
get to dial-in you individual level of comfort no matter is its
noon in the summer or a crisp fall evening drive.
This is a later E36, and that means it comes after the factory
upgraded the series to the larger 3.2-liter motor. This is believed
to be the original motor to the car, and the engine bay has the
clean look of an exceptionally respected classic. It's quite stock,
and we can only spot upgrades like the bracer bar over the shock
towers and an aluminum radiator. These are the kind of things that
make it a solid driving classic, and that's exactly what a car like
this was meant to do. This generation M3 was terrific at engaging
drivers with a nimble feeling from the fully independent
suspension, four-wheel power disc brakes, and a peppy performance
at all speeds from the 240-horsepower fuel-injected powerplant. The
automatic transmission is a bit of a rarity on the M3. These are
usually stick shift cars, and instead, this one is much nicer for
traffic no matter if you're slowly cruising a beachfront avenue or
just commuting to work. And because this is a five-speed unit, it
has the right gear ratios for quick kick-downs to performance as
well as cruising all-day in overdrive comfort.
The sale comes complete with the owner's manual packet and original
literature. This is the affordable drop-top modern classic you've
been waiting for. Don't let it slip away, call today!
