ONE OF THOSE RARE CLASSIC SOUTHERN FINDS- REDUCED!! Was $13,500 NOW $11,00- 1961 Volvo Pv 544- 4cyl-4 spd-2 dr- Great cruiser- The GOOD: This car was part of a private Arizona collection that had been in dry storage for many years . Last year the collection was sold through the Fla. Mecum Auction. A high-end Canadian auto dealer purchased it as part of the collection. I had been searching for a Pv544 for years and finally purchased this pretty example less than a year ago. Unfortunately now health issues and old age force this sale. This is a rare sought after car with all the expensive issues addressed with a lot, lot, of money invested- It appears that the previous owner (some years ago) : new interior, new rugs, headliner, dash, paint and body work done, I believe the engine was redone (142-45 psi all cyl. and appears to have a lot of money put into it), and the rusted areas replaced with factory panels. I replaced the chrome bumpers etc and new tires, new lights, carbs rebuilt, battery, gas tank, visor, and wiring (everything works). The NOT so GOOD: after sitting all those years in a collection, and most likely not road driven, it will require a few things; I have been told that valve guide seals ($16) have dried up and need replacing (seals can be replaced w/o pulling the head) another mechanic said " not a big deal given the way it runs and starts"- sorry that is about all I can tell you, I don't know much about these things; the brakes work but may need attention (they stop the car, good pedal, e-brake works fine, but they have never been looked at); the front-end needs attention (rubber seals and have some factory replacement parts). This car runs/starts decent, shifts, lot drives, stops, everything works, and will still need a little work to be road worthy once again. $11,000 FIRM- WE BOTH KNOW WHAT THESE ARE WORTH- I am trying to get some of my investment back I have over $17 invested- No I do not need help selling this car- If ad is still up it is still for sale-
