For Sale: 1964 International Scout 80 in Windsor, Ontario

Vehicle Description

Up for grabs is a completely beautiful 1964 Scout 80 4X4 Traveltop. This vehicle has spent the majority of its life in Canada, where it still is. The unit retains the original body and engine with only 65,000 miles. This engine will run forever. The body and frame are original except for the bumpers which have been swapped and modified with high-value after-market bumpers.

This car is a total blast to cruise around in. It drives perfectly and just passed a Canadian Safety Inspection with flying colors.

The vehicle initially belonged to the personal collection of a wealthy International Harvester dealer in Ontario for over 35 years. After his death, vehicles from his estate were sold, and his mechanic purchased this. After that, the vehicle moved to two other parties before ending up here.

Many similar vehicles have been sold above asking price at auction over the past few months. These vehicles have had dramatic value increases over the last six months, making a good one highly desirable and a fantastic alternative to the Bronco! Look no further.

Recent sales for 1964 models include a $44K sale at Barrett Jackson, and Bring a Trailer Sales of $22K in 2016 and 33K in 2017.

This unit would easily fall between above the excellent value and is insured for $36,000.

The carb has recently had a full rebuild & cleaning. There are new engine belts installed, and new gaskets throughout.  There are a few additional parts on order such as a new dual shift boot, new VIN plate (the original is there, but very faint and hard to read), a new traveltop bolt kit in stainless steel.

Brand new front seats installed.

Paint is flawless.

The unit will fire cold with no choke, no gas. Just starts and runs excellent. Super easy and fun to drive.

This vehicle is a classic but also a head-turner.

There are some minor paint issues to be fixed with touch-up paint. Pictures included.

The underbody and frame are completely solid with zero issues. There are a few tiny spots of minimal surface rust on the body edges, but ZERO holes or issues with the frame. It would benefit from some underbody cleaning and paint for aesthetics only.

To summarize, a classic, unique, Scout 80 that will continue to appreciate in value, and is already worth more than the asking price.

The vehicle is 45-minutes from the Detroit border in Canada. I can easily assist you in arranging transportation for the vehicle for cross-border shipping. The Ontario title is clean and in-hand.
