Vehicle Description
Classic style meets some very vivid upgrades on this 1948 Ford
Super Deluxe Coupe. So while you're admiring the vintage lines of
the all-steel body, don't forget to check out the performance-built
V8, custom/comfy interior, awesome suspension, and all the other
unique pieces that make this a true custom street machine.
There was a big investment in a sleek Candy Apple Red, and so it
instantly sets this machine apart as the sunlight loves to make the
car pop. But also take a moment to look at all the custom work done
before the first drop was sprayed on. The front end is a full
custom piece integrating a deep "V" design that looks like a
natural extension of the hood. And the billet side grilles give
this a hint of Ford's pre-war style. The entire custom look is
seamless and smooth, so they added to the sleekness by expertly
deleting the bumper and frenching the headlights. The rounded rear
has a terrific look with well-integrated details, like the frenched
taillights, notched roll pan for the dual exhaust, and the Ford V8
logo done in a subtle brighter red. The sides gives you some
classic street machine upgrades, like the shaved door handles and
the dual spotlights. This is mixed with modern pieces, like the
color-matched sport mirrors. The vintage and modern attitude comes
together on the wheel where you get a classic two-piece trim and
whitewalls, but the forward leaning stance from the extra meaty
rear ones (and the 3-inch fender expansion) are all part of new
build that took place only about 3k miles ago.
Pop the remote door opener, and you'll see the vibrant red returns
inside. Now it's joined by a tasteful two-tone gray. In fact, the
grays are expertly intertwined on the custom door panels, capering,
dash, trunk, and leather seats for a terrific uniform look. The
front buckets have the kind of design to give you all-day comfort,
and they even power adjust. There's great features like power
windows, cup holders, and an AM/FM touchscreen stereo with
Bluetooth. You even have provisions for features such as an
integrated radar detection system, backup camera, and air condition
(they will require further installation.) And while the rear seats
are an afterthought in most builds, this one has a well-finished
rear with nicely bolstered seating, shoulder seatbelts, and a
fold-down armrest. There's even a fold-down screen to watch DVDs
and play games. This is setup to be a comfortable driver with an
armrest center console, a wood-rimmed steering wheel on a tilt
column, and a full set of red-faced Classic Instruments gauges.
Grab your sunglasses before opening the hood, because we dare you
to find another component that can be polished in this award-worthy
presentation. And this 350 cubic-inch V8 crate motor has plenty of
substance beyond the style. It's a roller motor that includes an
Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor, performance intake, Comp Cams
Thumpr camshaft, and headers feeding some very straight pipes of
the dual exhaust (the consignor states it's a 340 horsepower
machine!) This also has the right supporting components, like an
HEI ignition, steel braided lines, and an aluminum radiator. This
is built to be a great driver, and so you also have the three-speed
automatic transmission, power steering, and cruise control. The
clean undercarriage shows you how thoughtful and fresh this build
is. Plus, you'll spot great pieces, like the Mustang II independent
front end, thick tubular rear bars, adjustable rear coilovers, and
four-wheel power disc brakes.
The sale comes complete with build receipts and restoration photos.
