Long Term Ownership History
Originally a U.S. car imported by Luigi Chinetti Motors Inc. in 1965. This example is one of only 125 "Interim" Series I cars. Meaning it was equipped with the much more desirable 5-speed manual transmission while still including the 4-headlights. Purchased new by a woman on Long Island. She would own the car until 1975 when it was purchased by John Hofstetter of Liverpool, NY. This car would be pride of the Hofstetter family for the next 42 years. During his ownership the car was restored over 2 year period in the late 1980's. Many receipts accompany the car. Upon Mr. Hofstetters' passing, the car was sold to a dentist in Naples, FL who owned the car until this year. Recent work includes

This example is a wonderful driver car. The car was repainted in single stage paint in it's original color in 1988. The exterior is showing wear and some cracking in some areas. Must be close up to see. Mechanically very well sorted and ready for use. Previous owner has spent 10s of thousands of dollars getting it sorted and reupholstering the front seats. We have put over 100 miles on the car in the Florida summer heat and it runs beautifully and runs cool. The interior shows very nicely with newly reupholstered front seats and original rear seats. The dash and headliner show very nicely with no shrinking or staining on both. A more modern radio has been installed and works nicely. All gauges work as they should. New Pirelli Cinturato tires and battery were installed during it's most recent service in July of 2020. Comes with owners books, documentation etc.
