The Ford Thunderbird hit the market in 1955 in was a direct
response to the Chevrolet Corvette. While the Corvette aimed to
impress with performance, the T-bird was all about style and
substance. Dubbed the first personal car by Ford, it was described
as a direct descendant of the bespoke 1930s roadsters and was aimed
as a brisk grand tourer. It was light for its era and the powerful
V8 could propel it to around 120 mph. The 1955 model featured the
proven 292cid Y-block V8 and had bumper mounted exhausts and a
trunk mounted spare tire. The 1955 Ford Thunderbird offered here
has been in the hands of the current owner for the last 25 plus
years. It remains in highly original condition. The car is powered
by its 292V8 engine fed through an upgraded carb with electric
choke. Power is transferred to the rear wheels via its automatic
transmission. The car has been repainted many years ago in its
original factory Thunderbird Red color, The interior remains highly
original featuring original dash, original radio (Non working),
