Vehicle Description
A final-year C3 with low mileage, its original two-tone, and
fuel-injected V8 power - this 1982 Chevrolet Corvette is one of the
most affordable ways to get a loaded classic that that's a standout
in any crowd.
There's a certain sophistication about this Corvette. The
factory-correct Silver Metallic and Dark Claret two-tone is a rare
treat. And that fiery red stripe used as a dividing line makes sure
this coupe is memorable. Not only is this glossy and vibrant color
theme striking, but also this is the original factory application!
That's what you get on a well-respected classic that has only
averaged about 1,000 miles annually. Polished factory alloys,
tinted windows, and the two reds outlining of the power bulge in
the hood - it all makes quite an impression even when standing
still.
The interior retains its correct silver color, and so it looks
great against the paint. Its's a highly original setup with a few
signs of driver enjoyment, but the level of preservation should get
Corvette enthusiasts quite excited. Plus, this classic has true
appeal because it's loaded with options like power windows, power
locks, power mirrors, tilt steering column, electric rear defrost,
an upgraded AM/FM/cassette stereo, and R134a air conditioning
(likely needs a recharge to blow ideally cold.) For the driver,
your seat power adjusts to the ideal position. There's a
three-spoke sports steering wheel on a tilt column. Beyond that is
the large speedometer and tachometer package in front and a full
gauge panel prominently to the side. Best of all, you can show this
fantastic interior to the world as you go cruising around with the
T-tops off.
The 1982 drivetrain was a preview of the new C4 Corvette. The
fuel-injected Cross-Fire 350 cubic-inch V8 is a torquey and
powerful upgrade only available on the 1982 C2. And it's
surprisingly efficient thanks to a new 700R4 four-speed automatic
overdrive transmission as standard equipment. Just like the rest of
this car, it's refreshingly stock under the hood, and so this is
believed to be the original equipment. It starts quickly and runs
strong, like a good FI motor should. And while features like power
steering, cruise control, and overdrive make it a fantastic highway
cruiser, this classic is always up to release its wild side. After
all, the fully-independent sports suspension and four-wheel power
disc brakes are the kind of things that will make you want to add
to the ultra-low odometer.
