For Sale: 1970 MG MGB in Meriden, Connecticut

Vehicle Description

1970 MG-B Roadster

This car was owned for several years by the Owl's Head Museum in ME. It was sold at auction in 2007 to a man who brought the car down to Key West, FL. He spent a good deal of money on the car which included a complete strip and repaint in the Pearlescent Primrose yellow she currently wears, the wire wheels and wide white walls.

Normally I wouldn't think wide whites would work on an MG but they look surprisingly good with this color combo.

The Florida owner did all this work and then hardly drove it and sold it to the current owner here in CT.

The current owner is an engineer and rather particular about his vehicles, so when he purchased it, he went through it and made sure everything was top notch. Over the last few years he has put several thousand miles on her (she currently shows just over 21,000 miles, that is not believed to be correct/actual). He purchased with the paint and wheels/tires and a new canvas top. Since then he has had the 4 cylinder 1800 engine rebuilt and fit it with a 2bbl downdraft Weber carburetor with K&N filter. The transmission and overdrive were rebuilt by Quantum Mechanix here in CT, which included a new clutch, pressure plate and throw-out bearing. He replaced the heater core, installed LED taillights, Petronix ignition, new motor and tranny mounts, replaced both horns, relays for head lights, new rear engine seal, new tinted windshield, rear brakes have been replaced. Just recently he had the entire front suspension rebuilt which included bushings, swing arm shocks, rotors and calipers. The master cylinder and slave cylinder ave been recently replaced along with a new oil cooler, rebuilt starter and re-cored radiator. A book of receipts comes with the car, documenting all the work that has been done to the car.

The interior is shod in black leather seats with white piping (the piping shows a couple of splits), padded dash, Sony stereo/CD/MP3 player; all electrics work. The trunk is fully carpeted and under the bonnet is fully detailed.

This car has been shown throughout New England and has taken many trophies in her tenure with this current owner... If you ask nicely, he might send one or two along with the car.

There are a couple of very small kinks in this wonderful car's armor... On the right rear wheel well there are two bubbles in the paint. As this car hasn't even seen rain in the last nearly 20 years, it's probably not rust but some of the prep work starting to come through. The opposite wheel well also has some nearly indiscernible delamination starting and there is a small crack in the chrome on the left rear bumper.

There is no rust on the car, the floors, castle rails, sills and wings are all in near perfect condition.

She runs and drives superbly, looks awesome and CAN be taken out to a show and come home with a trophy.

Asking price on her is a very reasonable $14,900

Any questions, for many more photos and video, to schedule a time to see her in person or to make an offer, please don't hesitate to contact me.

Thanks for the interest.
