The 560s are generally considered the best and most refined of the ever-popular 107-series SLs. This classic Mercedes is a local car and is free from past accident damage and has none of the common Midwest rust issues (check the close-ups of the two most rust-prone sites) The Black Pearl paint (it’s actually a dark grey) is really nice and the light Alpaca grey leather is still soft and not worn. It even has the rarely-seen matching rear seat option, plus factory heated seats. The car has recently been upgraded to R134 refrigerant with a new A/C compressor, plus new Michelin tires all around.
The prior owner is very particular about maintaining his Benzes (five in the family), and we have over $20,000 in recent receipts that include a new OEM radiator, all brakes, engine subframe mounts, new battery and the A/C work. On top of that, the engine was removed to replace head gaskets, all intake seals, cam chain & rails plus main crank seals. This owner really takes care of his cars!
The car is set off nicely with chromed factory-original wheels and it still has a never-used spare tire and factory keys. If you’d like to have a very well-sorted 560SL, skip all the cheap ones out there and enjoy the benefits of this exceptionally well- serviced example. (Most of the cheaper ones will need all the same work this car has already had—on top of whatever you pay for the car!)
