The 1969 Chevrolet Camaro has long been recognized as one of the most popular muscle cars of all time. And for those seeking true performance in the 1st Generation Camaros would go to none other than Berger Chevrolet in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Berger made a name for itself rolling high performance Chevrolets out the door to compete and win at the race tracks.
This stunning 1969 Chevrolet Camaro SS presented at auction is a tribute to "Prescribed Power" by Berger. Taking a solid body, true, Camaro SS down to the frame, this car was rebuilt from the ground up to an extremely high example. Add in the performance Big Block Engine and you have an exceptional 1969 Chevy Camaro SS Berger tribute.
The cowl tag denotes this car as coming from the factory with Daytona Yellow Exterior, Vinyl Top and Yellow Houndstooth Interior. This car is presented in these original colors and the look is not only incredible, but very rare as well. It is estimated(not confirmed) that only 800 Camaros were produced in this beautiful color combination. The body is very straight, body lines are true and the paint is very rich. A Factory Endura front bumper was installed and the back presents with a new chrome bumper. The finishing touch is the hand painted pin-striping applied by Kieth Eccles.
Mechanically the car is retrofitted with a 427 4 bolt main block. Moving the car down the road is a Muncie M-20 4 speed manual transmission mated to a 12 bolt posi-traction rear-end sporting 4:10 gears. Braking is supplied by disc front brakes and drums in the rear. The stance of the car is amplified by the Keystone Mag Wheels and the Vintage Good Year Tires.
The Yellow Houndstooth seats really make the car. Combined with the yellow door panels, the interior helps set the car apart from all the rest. True to it's tribute to racing performance, the car has Radio Delete and Heater Delete with factory original material.
No expense was spared in the build of this 1969 Camaro. Only NOS and other high quality parts were used during restoration and the quality workmanship shows throughout the car.
