**** THIS VEHICLE WILL BE OFFERED FOR AUCTION AT THE GREENSBORO
CLASSIC CAR AUCTION - JULY 23 - JULY 25, 2020 **** Debuting in
1958, the Impala was an instant smash hit and helped to propel the
bowtie brand to number one in manufacturing with this new model,
accounting for 15% of total Chevrolet production. The 1958
Chevrolet Bel Airs owed nothing to the previous year, from their
four headlights to rolled and lowered rear fins, to the all-new
bodywork and curvaceous interior cabin. Introduced as the top of
the line Bel Air hardtops the Impala also featured the innovative X
Frame which provided greater structural rigidity and resistance to
twisting forces and, at the same time, permitted the lowering of
the car without sacrificing space. This Snowcrest White Bel Air
Impala convertible is in superb condition and is a great
representation of the one-year-only body style. The recipient of a
comprehensive frame off restoration, every inch of the full-size
Chevrolet has been lovingly refinished. The laser-straight body
work accentuates the gleaming chrome molding and trim which is all
complete. Also, the terrific spinner hubcaps look just right with
the wide white-wall tires. Power is compliments of the 348-cubic
inch V8 engine, first used in 1958, with 4-barrrel carburetion
producing a healthy 250 horsepower. This smooth running
Turbo-Thrust V8 engine is connected to the reliable three-speed
manual transmission. The interior features bench seating with
red/gray/black interior and was equipped from the factory with air
conditioning. Other options include power steering, Wonderbar
radio, traffic light view, tissue dispenser, and fender skirts with
exhaust ports. A 1958 Impala Bel Air is a unique find, especially
one this nice. Don't miss your chance to own this exceptional
