Motorcar Studio is pleased to offer this 1980 Toyota Land Cruiser
FJ40, a highly-optioned and long-term California truck with
documented mileage and service history to new. The late-production
US-spec FJ40s are the best to own and drive thanks to a host of
upgrades - the improved 2F engine, four-speed manual transmission,
factory power steering and factory power disk brakes. This truck
was also ordered with factory air conditioning, which has been
converted to R-134a and is blowing cold.
Finished in attractive code 621 Rustic Green, in 2005 this FJ40 saw
a glass-out repaint to a nice standard in the original color by FJ
specialist Chris Wade near Atlanta. Most rubbers and external
hardware were replaced with OEM parts. This truck has never been
rusty - body panels are all original steel and much of the
underside still presents its original factory finish. The skid
plates were removed and painted black purely for appearance. Toyo
31x10.50 all terrains on refinished factory steel wheels that
present as new. Nice Warn 8,000 lb winch.
One collector owner from 2005 to present has garaged this FJ and
driven it sparingly on nice weather days; the truck still presents
beautifully (no significant chips, dings, dents or scratches but
there are some light scuffs on the rockers and running boards
consistent with normal use). Excellent and mostly original interior
(front seats were reupholstered in correct materials in the early
2000s). All lights, gauges, switches, indicators, etc. are working
properly.
Mechanically excellent with documented maintenance history to new -
no known service needs. This Land Cruiser runs and drives well and
it's nice having A/C on these hot summer days. Original window
sticker, owner's manual, factory tools and service/mileage log
