This car looks and drives awesome!

As the VIN number indicates this car was built at the Los Angeles, CA factory as a 1968 Chevrolet Camaro Sport Coupe with an 8-cylinder engine. From the information gathered it’s believed to be a real Super Sport but there is no documentation to support this claim. This car was the product of a complete nut and bolt rotisserie restoration. It retains a lot of the original sheet metal and has a Super Sport hood. During the restoration it got a new valiance, door skins and a passenger rear quarter. The hood, doors and trunk lid close very nicely. The car was painted in Gulf Green which is a 1949 Buick color. The Gulf Green color was complemented with a White front nose bumble bee stripe. This color combination dresses this car beautifully. The SS and 383 emblems are White which matches the White stripe. The paint is virtually flawless and has been detailed to a show quality shine. It has all new tinted glass throughout which is crystal clear. All of the window trim fits tight and looks spectacular. Everything on the exterior has been restored or replaced such as the wipers, front grill, bumpers, door handles, fender moldings, lower moldings, lenses, emblems, gas cap and custom antenna. It has Detroit Speed electric headlight covers that work great especially compared the factory vacuum headlight covers. The car has a great stance on custom 18” Budnik “Teardrop” polished wheels. The wheels are wrapped with Victra MA-Z1 Maxxis tires that are 225-45-18 on the front and 245-45-18 on the rear.

The exterior is complemented with a new custom Tan Ultra Leather interior with Green accents. The dash, steering column and console were painted Green. This interior is extremely comfortable and user friendly. The custom Ultra Leather upholstery was professionally installed throughout including the headliner w/ dome light, sun visors, dash pad, door panels, bucket seats, rear seat and rear shelve. The front and rear seats are equipped with seat belts. Everything in the interior has been restored or replaced. Some of the custom interior options include Dakota Whiteface gauges, Detroit Speed windshield wiper motor, 15.5” Budnik “Teardrop” steering wheel, Vintage Air Conditioning, Pioneer stereo system with Bluetooth capabilities, door handles, window cranks, console and plush carpeting with matching floor mats. The custom center console includes two vents, B&M shifter with Tan Leather boot, cup holder and storage compartment with Tan Leather lid. Everything in the interior is in working order including the ice cold Vintage Air Conditioning. The trunk compartment was professionally boxed and upholstered in matching Ultra Tan leather with Green accents.

The engine compartment is highly detailed throughout with many custom features. The backside of the Super Sport hood was painted Green. It’s equipped with chrome hood hinges, a chrome hood latch assembly and chrome fender braces. The firewall was smoothed and painted Green along with the inner fenders and radiator support. A new American Auto Wire wiring harness was added. The car is powered by a GM Performance 383 V8 crate engine that is rated with 425hp. The engine is dressed with such items as aluminum heads, Edelbrock polished intake, billet wire looms, billet valve covers and billet air cleaner. It’s also equipped with a custom front runner pulley system that looks and works excellent. This engine starts and runs excellent. The engine is cooled by a Northern aluminum radiator with Spal dual fans. The engine breathes out Dynamax ceramic headers and a 3” Flow Master exhaust system with down pipes. The engine is coupled to a 700R4 automatic transmission which is great for city and highway driving. The power is transferred to the through the 10-bolt Posi rear end with an Auburn center section and 3.23 gears. This driveline is powerful and very reliable.

The undercarriage is nicely detailed throughout with many custom features. The floors were finished in a Black textured paint for durability. The fuel tank was painted in gloss Black. This undercarriage is nice enough to display with mirrors at a car show but not so nice that you wouldn’t want to drive it. Everything underneath has been restored or replaced. It’s equipped with a Flaming River power rack and pinion steering system that works great. The front suspension has been upgraded including QA1 coil overs. The rear suspension is a Heidts system also including coil overs. The power braking system consists of a 12” chrome booster, chrome master cylinder, stainless lines and Wilwood four wheel disc brakes with slotted rotors.

The vision of the restoration was to build a show quality car that would be a great driver. The mission was accomplished.
